The old kirk, built in 1792, is situated a little to the N. of the graveyard and is physically distinct from the yard. There are approximately 56 recumbent tombstones, 5 of which are significantly decorated, with many hundreds of upright tombstones dating to the late 20th - century. The enclosure to the Gordons of Avochie and Mayen, dated 1692, is an exceptionally well-detailed memorial formed with architectural details borrowed heavily from the Baroque.
There are 3 other enclosures of 18th century date.
On the S.E. corner of the yard is situated the old watch-house with a mort-house underneath.
Built in 1831 and extended in 1877
